NQQK Diverter Application methods

1. Method of selecting a 501W/BP choke for the splitter

(1) Select the rated voltage drop specification of the splitter based on the mV indicated on the dial of the ammeter (or current voltage multimeter) used (usually 75mV or 45mV). If the ammeter used does not have this value, use the following formula to calculate the voltage limit of the meter, and then select the rated voltage drop specification of the splitter.

Voltage limit of the meter (mV)=current at full scale of the ammeter (A) × Internal resistance of ammeter (Ω)/1000

(2) Select the rated current specification of the splitter according to the desired current range for expansion.

(3) Connect the two current terminals of the selected splitter to the power supply and load respectively, and connect the potential terminal to the ammeter. Note that the polarity of the terminal DJ623-8 of the ammeter should be connected correctly, so that the range of the ammeter can be expanded to the calibrated current value on the splitter.

2. Calculation method for ammeter multiplier after using a splitter

For motor test measurements, it is often necessary to configure multiple splitters for one ammeter to solve the problem of ensuring the required measurement accuracy in a large measurement range. At this point, it is required that the rated voltage drop of all splitters used be consistent with the equipped ammeter, such as 75mV. In this way, after selecting the splitter, the full range of the ammeter is the rated current value of the selected splitter, and the multiple of the ammeter (i.e. the number of currents per grid on its dial scale) is the total number of grids divided by the rated current of the splitter on the dial scale.

There are slot type and non slot type splitters used for DC current measurement. The splitter has manganese nickel copper alloy resistance rods and copper strips, and is plated with a nickel layer. Its rated voltage drop is 60mV, but it can also be used for 75, 100, 120, 150, and 300 mV

The rated currents of slot type splitters are as follows: 5 A, 10 A, 15 A, 20 A, and 25 A
The rated current of non slot splitters ranges from 30 A to 15 kA with standard intervals.NQQK Diverter Application methods
